Join Miriam's Kitchen at our first ever Volunteer Appreciation and Fundraising Chili Cook-Off!

It's time to spice things up at Miriam's!  We know we have a lot of cooks in the kitchen, so we want you to bring your best chili recipe and we'll decide who gets the chili bragging rights of the year. Drinks and snacks will be provided, in addition to all the chili you care to taste.  Volunteer Alan Munter will also be featuring his home-brewed Hefe-weizen beer.

Come out and show your support for Miriam's Kitchen, our volunteers and cooks, and capsaicin.

We invite 15 chefs to showcase their chili recipes (10 with meat, 5 vegetarian).  Chefs are asked to deliver their potential prize-winning chili in a crockpot (and with a ladle please) to Rozi's house by 6:00p.m.  So our attendees don't go home hungry, cooks are requested to make at least 3 lbs of chili (a typical 4 quart crockpot).

Judges will then conduct their taste-testing starting at 6:30p.m. so please make sure your chili arrives on time.  How do you get to be a judge you say?  It's easy, just sign up as a chili judge. But hurry, we only have 10 coveted spaces available!  Please see judge description for more information.  Judges will also receive a Chili Cook-Off Commemorative CD - say that three times fast!

Attendees also get the chance to vote in the People's Choice Chili Contest, so don't think your voices won't be heard!  If you are coming to enjoy the food, drinks, and company, please arrive at 7:00p.m.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to RSVP but pay with cash or check, please email Ashley at ashley@miriamskitchen.org.
